Twitturly Mashups of Mashups
I was browsing round my usual morning slew of new and exciting in the world of Web Two Dot Oh! Working my way through all the links I gather from techcrunch, venture beat, mashable, jimbarraud.com, etc, when one caught my eye.
Twitter based “mashups” are two a penny these days, another reason it’s a travesty that they’re so undependable since so many rely on them (I’m not sure who’s “fault” that is, but I know it hurts the user)…anyway.. now a days we’re almost into the realm of people making mashups off the mashups. What had caught my eye was one of these internet concoctions.
The premise is pretty simple, take every URL that’s mentioned on Twitter using a service like Summize, mash them all together and show the ones that are mentioned the most in a Digg style format, so people can see what online everyone is talking about right…. NOW.
It’s rather neat, if you’re into that sort of thing, check it out.
You could even build an app that uses the RSS feed to auto update your Twitter feed with the most talked about things of the day, thus making yourself look immediately very “hip” and “current” whilst at the same time allowing the proverbial snake to swallow it’s tail, the beams to cross and the internet bubble as we know it to pop in a web two do oh! color shower of pastel gradients.
More to come on Twitturly as they have a cool competition going on.
