Amazon.com Down

Just got an IM telling me to checkout http://amazon.com and yes low and behold it’s throwing

Http/1.1 Service Unavailable

Tom did a quick bit of searching on twitterscan and it seems to have been down for at least the last 30 minutes, based on the first post to twitter regarding the outage.

In total geekness, I wanted to see how much that was going to cost Amazon.

Based on there Q1 profits for 2008, it seems they’ve lost in excess of $950,000 in that 30 minutes (and every additional 30 minutes it’s down)

(4,135,000,000 / 90) / 48 = $957 175.926

Someone seriously going to loose their job for that.
